The Story of our Play Spaces

The first seeds for Little Play Spaces were sowed after spending an afternoon of cutting, taping and painting lots of cardboard boxes into a little cafe for my daughter, Molly. She loved the Fancy Nancy children's books and had been trying to set up tea parties with our little family for months.

Like a lot of children, Molly already had a play oven, mini baking set, kitchen utensils and fake food and for the next 3 or 4 months, all she wanted to do was play in her cafe.

Molly's little friends loved her playhouse too and so I cleared off my drawing board and began to design and illustrate a more sophisticated version for larger scale production. My main design goal was/is to create playhouses that are both visually compelling AND functionally interactive.

I launched Little Play Spaces in 2010 with the French Cafe, soon to be followed in 2011 by the Castle and this year, the Beauty Parlor.

I hope your kids enjoy these as much as mine do.
